Dr Sarah Benn, a GP and NHS doctor of more than 30 years, was imprisoned for 32 days for holding a placard that read ‘Stop New Oil’ outside an oil depot, thus breaching an injunction in 2022 obtained by a US based oil company against all acts of protest. On April 23, a GMC Medical Practitioners Tribunal, following a finding of professional misconduct, suspended Dr Benn’s medical registration for five months.
